Free sample lesson

Communicate decisions, not noise.

A principal update should answer five questions: What happened? What has been handled? What decision is needed? What do you recommend? When is the decision required?

Unclear update

“The HVAC company called and there are a few issues. They gave us options. Let me know what you want to do.”

“The upstairs unit stopped cooling at 10:15 a.m. The vendor restored temporary service and confirmed there is no safety risk. They recommend replacing the failed control board for the approved quoted amount. Please approve Option A by 3 p.m. to keep tomorrow’s appointment.”
